At this very moment, I can hear the sound of sleet falling on my metal roof, harmonizing with the crackling of burning logs in my wood stove. This is the 2nd wave of wintery weather that’s hit the PNW in the last few days, with temps in the single digits. Even my hometown in Arkansas has been turned into a winter wonderland, and I’ve been hearing from friends all over the country about their own chilly days that have settled in. I absolutely love it!
So it’s the perfect time to announce a new project that I’ve been working on for the past month! For the first time ever, I’m releasing a collection of digital wallpapers formatted specifically for iPhones, iPads & Macs!
This Winter Wallpaper Collection features 8 photos that I shot in Scotland, Iceland, New Zealand & the Pacific Northwest. They come in JPEG format and are easy to download, transfer to your other Apple device(s), and set as your wallpaper, bringing the beauty of our frozen planet into your own digital world.
You can purchase the collection HERE.
And if this isn’t for you, no worries at all. I still want to say thank you for following along with me on this creative journey. So I wanted to gift you a FREE wallpaper made specifically for iPhone (and it should still work on non-Apple phones, too.) I chose this one because my mom always loved looking down on waterfalls, and the last wallpaper she had on her iPhone (which she had set for years) was a photo I took from the Road to Hana on Maui, a shot very similar to this one. If she was still with us today, I guarantee you this one be on her phone!
For the technically-challenged. =)
If you’re on your phone, simply long-press the image above, then press “Save to Photos”. Then go to your Photos library, hit the share button in the bottom-lefthand corner, and select “Use as Wallpaper”.
If you’re on an iPad, do the same sequence, and then share it to your phone (AirDrop, text to yourself, etc.) If on a desktop/laptop, drag-and-drop the file to your desktop, then send it to your phone.
I want to give a special shout-out to my friend Stephen Robles, who has encouraged me to release wallpapers of my landscape photography for years! Stephen reached out recently to see if I’d be open to collaborating with him on this project, and I enthusiastically said YES. I sent him the images, and he did all the work of formatting them for Apple devices and building the Gumroad shop. Stephen lives in Tampa and just launched a brand new podcast all about the biggest new in tech called “Primary Technology.” If that’s your thing, be sure to check it out!
Buying these wallpapers is a great way to support my work as an artist. While winter is beautiful, it’s also very slow when it comes to work. And every little bit helps. So thank you, especially those who will make this purchase. And if you feel compelled, please tell all your friends!!
Just one more thing…
As I say goodbye, I want to leave you with one last piece of art. This is a 15 minute music video that I created a few years ago for my friend Tony Anderson, a brilliant film composer in LA. This piece is titled “Immanuel” and features another dear friend & composer, Timbre Cierpke of Nashville, an incredibly gifted harpist and soprano singer. Enjoy!
P.S. Tony recently released this song on vinyl, along with a few other favorite compositions of his. And the packaging is just as exquisite as the music itself. It’s made a beautiful addition to my home, both visually & sonically. You can purchase it HERE.
Thank you all for your continued support. I hope these images and accompanying music has enriched your life and warmed your soul on this very cold day.
Peace be with you,
Stephen P.
